The red flags that stop counselling

Which symptoms tell you it's not time for a supplement, but for a doctor or emergency services?

Lesson summary

What to remember

  • Red flags take priority over any product request.
  • Risk groups: infants, pregnancy, older people, serious disease, high-risk treatments.
  • Don't mask symptoms with a supplement plan.
  • Direct calmly: doctor, out-of-hours service or emergency services, by severity.

At your next counselling session

Before every recommendation, ask yourself: “Have I heard a red flag?”

If so, the first thing you say is the medical referral.
